Alumni Coordinator’s Letter: Incredible things are happening !

We are now halfway through the academic year, and incredible things continue to take place on and around the KCD campus. The seniors just returned from their retreat, our drama programs just wrapped up fantastic performances of Beauty and the Beast and The Mousetrap, winter sports are in full swing, and students are challenged by innovative teaching every day.

As I walk through the halls on any given day, I witness teaching and learning in creative and collaborative ways. Our youngest students are experimenting with a green screen in the Lower School Makerspace, and middle schoolers are building and programming robots in the FabLab. Last week, I watched a group of high schoolers running sprints in the courtyard to study metabolic heart rate in a Human Biology class. KCD has always been an educational leader in the region, and that tradition remains as strong as ever.

Alumni are encouraged to stop by and visit—there are always exciting games and events happening. However, if you can’t make it to campus, check us out on social media to see what’s happening at KCD. Every day is exciting! The kcdschool Instagram page, kcdalumni on Twitter, and the Kentucky Country Day School Facebook pages are updated regularly. All of these social media avenues are great ways to catch a glimpse of KCD students and faculty in action. You will even see recognizable faces of the past with Throwback Thursdays! We’ve had fun digging in our archives this summer to bring back some of these blasts from the past. I highly recommend you start following us—you’ll love what you see!

As always, please keep us updated on what is happening in your life, with your family, and with your classmates. Stop by and visit us anytime. We’d love to take you on a tour and show you all the wonderful ways our students are growing and learning!
